Enhance your knowledge and skills in integrative medicine, which is an evidence-based approach to whole-person care that incorporates all available healing modalities to achieve optimal health and well-being. Participants will engage in interactive discussions and hands-on activities aimed at deepening their understanding and application of integrative medicine to enhance clinical practice and patient experience.
Designed for healthcare professionals who provide integrative care to patients, including physicians, osteopathic physicians (DOs), acupuncturists, residents, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, registered dietitians, and other providers of integrative care. It aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to work more effectively with patients and to deepen their practice of whole-person healing.
Workshop Objectives
- Define and describe the scientific framework of mind-body practices whole-person health and healing.
- Recognize and apply a range of self-care skills and mindfulness-based practices that patients can utilize for their health and well-being.
- Demonstrate and perform one or more integrative medicine practices that can be easily taught to a patient incorporated into a routine 20-minute office visit.
- Reproduce and show a patient how to use and/or access a variety of integrative medicine practices.
Accreditation
The University of California San Diego School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The University of California San Diego School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
