Practice-based research (PBR) is clinical investigation grounded in the outcomes of real-world care, drawing from data already collected during integrative health visits. With support from the Krupp Endowed Fund, UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health uses PBR to evaluate the impact of its integrative medicine clinical programs and services. Pilot grants for in-kind research support are available each year.

Supports establishment of a Whole Person Research and Coordination Center to develop a conceptual “whole person physiome” framework and coordinate research activities across institutions. The center will advance multidisciplinary collaboration and data integration to better understand whole-person health.
