Mark A. Lau, PhD, L Psych is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia, and a registered psychologist in private practice at the Vancouver CBT Centre. He is a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) trainer and mentor of the UCSD Mindfulness Based Professional Training Institute, as well as a Founding Fellow of both the Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies and the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behaviour Therapies, and a Certified Trainer/Consultant of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Dr. Lau has over 30 years’ experience providing leadership in MBCT training and education including providing MBCT single and multi-day professional trainings internationally, as well as delivering MBCT and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to individuals and groups; conducting MBCT and CBT research; and providing leadership in developing models of mental health care delivery including innovative ways of disseminating MBCT & CBT. He is a former Associate Editor of the journal Mindfulness.
