Cardiovascular disease (CVD), a disorder of the heart and blood vessels and is the leading cause of death globally. This condition is multi-factorial with contributing factors stemming from genetics to lifestyle. However, there is strong evident to support the use of modifiable lifestyle factors, such as eating a healthy diet, regular physical activity or movement, weight loss, avoidance of tobacco and minimizing alcohol intake, to address CVD risk factors.
CIN and CIR have organized a team of experts including award-winning researchers, medical professionals, integrative nutritionists, master exercise physiologists and others, to provide an emersion-inspired research project for subjects to learn and incorporate wellness practices including a whole-foods, plant-based diet, mediation, physical activity, cooking classes, personalized counseling and other support to combat this disease. This study is in conjunction and support by The Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.
