Mitigating Toxic Impact: The Role of Melatonin, Coenzyme Q10, and N-Acetylcysteine in Post-Exposure Protection

Study Status
Card Summary

On February 3, 2023, a train derailed in East Palestine, Ohio (EP), spilling multiple toxic chemicals from the derailed cars. On February 6, officials decided to “vent and burn” the chemicals, which greatly expanded both the number of toxic chemicals and the geographic reach of the toxic plume carried by prevailing winds. Many residents and first responders experienced a range of symptoms, prominently including irritant symptoms (burning eyes, nose, mouth, and skin), headaches, fatigue, bloody nose, and respiratory symptoms and conditions such as rhinitis, sinusitis, and new asthma.

The study aims to assess the mitigating toxic impact of Melatonin, Coenzyme Q10, and N-Acetylcysteine in Post-Exposure Protection.

Evaluating the Effects of Magnesium on Arterial Compliance and Cerebral Blood Flow

Study Status
Card Summary

This feasibility study aimed to examine whether 12 weeks of magnesium supplementation (450 mg magnesium citrate 3x day with food) might increase cerebral blood flow and reduce the stiffness of the medium-sized arteries in the brain of obese patients with metabolic syndrome.
