This week the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness brings to you one of our favorite detox drinks! There are dozens of benefits from making your own detox drinks, from reducing weight loss, lowering inflammation, cleanses the liver, and promotes skin health. More water can be used if the smoothie is too thick. Also, the remaining water from cooked beet can be used. Check out the beet smoothie detox and let us know how you feel after!
Ingredients:
- 1 small beet
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- 1 small banana
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions:
- Fill pot with water; place peeled and sliced beet.
- Cook until soft, about 2 hours. Cool off completely.
- Blend in blender cooked beet, strawberries, blueberries and banana with 1/2 cup water.
- Blend until smooth.
