PEACE OFFICER WELLNESS PROGRAM FACILITATOR - PART TIME

This position will work directly with law enforcement professionals and agencies in California to assist with developing, delivering, and assessing evidence-based integrative wellness programs for sworn and non-sworn law enforcement personnel. The Wellness Program Facilitator will receive comprehensive training, be assigned to one or more regional law enforcement agencies, become familiar with the agency culture and leadership, deliver, and facilitate participation in live and online program content, provide coaching and support to internal peer wellness officers, and help to facilitate collection of evaluation data. This program is co-sponsored by the CA Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.

The ideal candidate should possess seven (7) years of related experience, or have a bachelor’s degree in a related area along with three (3) years of related experience/training, and should have a thorough knowledge of the health promotion and education field.

RESEARCH DATA ANALYST - HYBRID/REMOTE

This position will initially be focused on coordinating program evaluations and research on feasibility and outcomes of new integrative wellness programs with law enforcement agencies and police officers in the state of California. This is a partnership between the CA Commission for Peace Officer Standards and Training and the UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health.

The position designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings, and prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research professional with a full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and / or research software programming techniques. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Has strong project management skills to carry out research projects from start to finish.

LAW ENFORCEMENT WELLNESS AND RESILIENCE PROGRAM INTERNSHIP - HYBRID

The UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health invites applications for an internship opportunity on the POST-UCSD Organizational Wellness and Resilience program, which is a partnership between the CA Commission for Peace Officer Standards and Training and the UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health.

The primary focus for this internship will be on integrative wellness programs and research with law enforcement agencies and police officers in the state of California.

The goal of the internship is for the intern to gain exposure to developing, delivering, and evaluating a statewide integrative wellness program. The internship is designed to help develop the intern's skill sets in the areas of project management, research, education, communication, and integrative health and wellness.

The interns will learn from and work with a small team, which includes the program's principal investigator Cassandra Vieten, PhD, managing director of the Centers for Integrative Health Lauray MacElhern, program manager Brandon Chulaluxsiriboon, and a data analyst. This position will receive training in project management, and learn how to organize training courses, manage learners in a learning management system, and coordinate communications and marketing.

This position will also gain experience with program evaluations and research on feasibility and outcomes of new integrative wellness programs. Research learning activities may include: participating in designing and conducting research, preparing reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids, and communicating data and results.

Successful candidates should have:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in analyzing, researching, and synthesizing data.
  • Be able to prepare sound and relevant proposals and/or analyses.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team.
